Simulations of Composites with Cylindrical Particles

The electrical properties of polymer-nanowire composites can be predicted by using computer simulations that model different parameters (aspect ratio, orientation, etc) to create a system of conductive cylinders in a non-conductive matrix. By making different changes to this, we can investigate how different systems of nanowires may change the percolation threshold of nanocomposites. Specifically, the effect of polydispersity in rod aspect ratios is being investigated in both istropic and oriented systems of nanowires.
