Dakota is currently researching how to effectively phenyl cap collodial silica nanoparticles to disperse throughout polystyrene in order to better understand their interactions in a composite. Overall he is researching how to selectively alter (phenyl cap) these particles and predict how they will disperse in a given polymer composite.
Outside of work, Dakota plays bass guitar for two musical groups on campus, and likes to play pickup games of football and lacrosse with friends.
